Punkt or Punk’d? New stripped back phone gives basic style at a large price

The Swiss-made Punkt MP01 ‘dumbphone’ is designed for those who want to be free from the modern trappings of smartphone addiction, providing just call and text facilities within its stylish design.

The phone costs $329, however, so it really has to be a considered statement rather than a simplification purchase as there are many simple phones out there that don’t cost as much as a good smartphone.

Intended to be ‘a mobile phone for smart communicators’, the MP01 also provides a calendar, alarm and Bluetooth, but not much else. Forget checking Facebook or tweeting.

So, in simplifying will you go for the pricey head-turner on offer here or just get an old Nokia from eBay and spend your days with Snake?
