When wearables get weird: Rufus Cuff wrist tablet looks like it should have a built-in blaster (but doesn’t)

Still clinging to the 60s through 80s vision of the future? The Rufus Cuff should tick the wrist tablet box.

Looking like a blaster unit from the future, the Rufus Cuff has passed its Indiegogo trial and become a real product.

The 3.2-inch display is worn on the wrist and runs Android, so a one-fingered tap can bring up text, email, etc. (all within wifi range, through, there’s no SIM card slot).

It’s slated as not only a tablet, but also a fitness tracker, with its GPS, accelerometer and gyroscope. Unfortunately, some much smaller devices are out there for the serious fitness fanatic.

The Rufus Cuff will ship in 2016 and costs $249.
